Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering and architecture firm. We design, build and operate from nine offices across Michigan and Indiana. We specialize in a wide variety of services to align our values with your goals. Background: Larry Fleis, PE and Steve VandenBrink, PE, two Grand Rapids civil engineers and friends, started F&V in 1993. Today the firm has 200 employees, nine offices and we’re still growing. The employee-owned, multi-disciplined civil engineering and architecture firm has become a one-stop shop for infrastructure planning, design and construction. The firm’s steady growth can be attributed to several things – hiring good people, doing good work and having good client relationships. From the beginning, we invested in our people and provided them with opportunities, tools and technology to be the best. We created a demand for our services and expertise by providing clients with exceptional service, innovative solutions and great advice on how to fund projects, including getting project grants or low-interest loans. Philosophy: The key to success is our clients. Nearly 90 percent of our work year after year is from repeat clients because we have a caring staff and provide quality services at fair value. We build relationships by being good listeners, hearing all the concerns and issues before starting a project. We also try to get a thorough understanding of the client’s goals and critical success factors. Clients like our technical expertise, responsiveness and working relationship that puts them at ease. Working together, on custom-fit solutions, we help deliver results and award-winning projects as promised – on time and on budget. Our People: Our team is made up of engineers, architects, water resource specialists, landscape architects, geologists, environmental scientists, surveyors, GIS specialists, inspectors, field technicians, construction managers, professional emergency managers (PEMs), operations specialists, and administrative support.
